The Criminal Investigative Division (CID) of the Watertown Police Department consists of 1 Captain, 1 Sergeant, 4 Detectives, 2 School Resource Officers, and 1 Detective Secretary. Detectives are largely responsible for investigating felony crimes. Detectives specialize in specific areas such as Narcotics, Crimes Against Children, and General Crimes.
In addition to his supervisory duties, the CID Captain is responsible for the department's Crime Scene Investigation team and for operating the Department’s Crime Prevention Unit, which involves providing seminars to various businesses and community groups.
